We handed over our latest development to its tenants at the end of December.

The £1.5million Mains of Culduthel retail site in Inverness is around three miles from the city centre, on the A8082 Southern Distributor Road.

Close to supermarkets, a retail park and Raigmore Hospital, the 4,100 sq ft development with 23 car parking spaces also comprises four units. Three have been leased to Highland Vet Referrals, part of the IVC Evidensia network, on a 20 year lease, while dessert parlour Shakes n’ Cakes has leased the fourth for 15 years.

The new veterinary practice includes two new dedicated operating theatres, three consulting rooms, separate cat and dog wards and a new CT scanner. It will offer pets a wide scope of surgical procedures, including spinal surgery, which has never been provided in the region before. Source

Mains of Culduthel is a great example of our neighbourhood strategy — it’s on a popular, well connected arterial route, making it easier for people to access services locally. And I have to say, we really appreciated the community engagement and the feedback from those who took part.

We’re always looking for development opportunities, specifically those like Culduthel that are in line with the ‘20 Minute Neighbourhood’ concept in which people can meet all their daily needs within a 20-minute walk, cycle or public transport journey from their home.

This concept has gained significant traction throughout the coronavirus pandemic and we’d expect it gather even more pace in city planning over the next few years.

The Aberdeen-based property developers and investors have been involved with sites across Scotland . This greenfield development created around 30 jobs when construction began in March 2021. It follows the success for West Coast Estates in the Highlands of the design and build of retail premises at Braes of Conon on a site acquired from Tulloch Homes.
