West Coast Estates handsover its latest development in Aberdeen to Co-op: creating 30 jobs.
The Co-op Group’s newest convenience store in Aberdeen will open shortly on King Street.
With handover to our tenants at the end of March, the city centre outlet, close to the University of Aberdeen, is expected to create more than 30 full and part-time jobs.
We partnered with Burns Construction Aberdeen and CAG Architects to deliver the £2 million, 557 sq metre (6,000 sq ft) development, which features a reclaimed granite façade and sustainable roofing materials to minimise heat loss.
The store will offer a wide selection of groceries as well as a bakery. There’s car parking for up to 20 vehicles, including two electric charging points and two disabled parking spaces.
In line with the Scottish Government’s ’20 minute neighbourhoods’ ambitions, the site has cycle spaces, is on a main bus route, and is an easy walk to and from residential, educational and commercial areas.
“At a time when people are facing more challenges than ever, the new store in King Street, delivered through close collaboration with our partners, will give people a wide choice of products right on their doorstep — reducing the need to drive to a supermarket and making life a little easier.
